How it works
How a home visit works
Getting medical care at home should be simple. One call connects you to our care team, who coordinate your visit and keep you informed from the moment you contact us.
You call
Our hotline is available 24/7, including nights, weekends and public holidays. A care coordinator confirms your location, asks about your symptoms and provides an estimated arrival time before your visit is arranged.
We dispatch a doctor
Our doctors are positioned across Mauritius, with coverage coordinated from Grand Baie, Flacq, Quatre Bornes and Mahébourg. Arrival time depends on location, traffic, demand and doctor availability. The coordinator confirms the current estimate when you call.
Your doctor assesses and treats you
Your doctor carries out a clinical assessment at home, explains the findings and, where appropriate, begins first-line treatment during the same visit. Prescriptions and recommendations for any further care are provided before the doctor leaves.
We follow up
Payment can be made after the consultation by cash, card or MCB Juice, and you receive a receipt detailing the services provided and associated costs. Our care team follows up where appropriate, while your medical records, appointments and billing information remain accessible through the OCS Care patient portal.

What information should I have ready when I call?
To help our care coordinator arrange your visit, please provide:
- The patient’s age and gender.
- Their symptoms and the reason for requesting a doctor.
- The patient’s location.
- A contact name and telephone number.
- Your relationship to the patient, if you are booking on their behalf.
How soon can a doctor arrive, and can I book ahead?
OCS Médecins provides home visit doctor services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our care coordinator prioritises requests according to urgency and usually assigns the nearest available doctor.
The usual estimated arrival time is 30–45 minutes. This is an estimate rather than a guaranteed arrival time; your care coordinator will confirm the expected timing when arranging your visit.
You can also request an appointment for a preferred time. Our coordinator will help arrange and confirm your booking.
Are mental health counselling and specialist consultations available 24/7?
Mental health counselling and specialist consultations require an appointment and are not available around the clock. Contact our care coordinator to discuss your needs and arrange an available appointment.
Before you call
When to call us, and when to call 114
A home visit is suitable for many urgent but non-life-threatening health concerns, from fever, respiratory infections and digestive symptoms to wound care and flare-ups of ongoing conditions. It can also be especially helpful when travelling is difficult, whether you are caring for a young child, an elderly relative, or more than one person in the household is unwell.
Some symptoms need emergency care, not a home visit.
Call SAMU on 114 or go directly to the nearest emergency department for symptoms such as severe chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, sudden weakness or facial drooping, confusion, seizures, heavy bleeding, serious injury, or fever in a baby under three months old.
For children under two years with fever, contact our team so we can advise on the most appropriate level of care.
If you are unsure whether a home visit is appropriate, call our care team. We can help you determine the most appropriate next step.
